“The American chess champion standing inside the rows of tables and the best players in the Pikes Peak region who opposed him. Of the 51 men who played against the champion, George W. Veditz of this city was the only one to win his match. Four men earned at ties with the champion. The match was held Thursday evening at the El Paso club.”
